Our Story

How It All Began

Our goal is to offer a globally diverse atmosphere that welcomes domestic and international students so that they can develop a love for life-long learning, academics, sports, health, and wellness. We want to produce caring, socially responsible, and passionate students with integrity and character.

Students do not have to be elite athletes to benefit from a sports school. The value of athletics in schools is significant. It has a profound impact on individuals, schools, and communities. Learning to take care of your physical well-being and mental health at a young age are just two of the essential skills that we believe are of the utmost importance to youths.

Located in Kanata, Ontario, at the Bell Sensplex, the Ottawa Sports Academy Private School is a Grade 4-12 multi-sport educational institution in Ottawa and the only hockey school powered by the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs and Fitquest. OSA Private School is launching with the intent to become a leader in athletic performance development, first-class academics, and mental health awareness and training.

Junior School
Grade 4-8

Within the Junior Grades at OSA Private School, we pride ourselves on offering a stimulating and inclusive educational experience that champions critical thinking, creativity, and overall development. Our curriculum extends far beyond the confines of the classroom, nurturing students in academics, athletics, arts, co-curricular, community involvement, and leadership skills. Through clearly defined standards and expectations, we aim to cultivate a culture of excellence across all aspects of student life.

Our Junior-grade classrooms are thoughtfully designed to accommodate diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student’s unique needs are addressed. Furthermore, our expansive outdoor and sports facilities, which include an indoor field house, strength and conditioning room, ice rinks, and outdoor green spaces with baseball and soccer fields, provide ample opportunities for exploration, challenge, and self-expression.

At OSA, we recognize the importance of sports and arts development in a well-rounded education. Our comprehensive sports program encompasses soccer, baseball, football, hockey, figure skating, fostering physical fitness, skill enhancement, and teamwork. Similarly, our arts curriculum, which includes dance and music, encourages students to unleash their creativity and explore their artistic passions.

Central to our educational philosophy is a dynamic and easily adaptable curriculum that encourages inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and creativity. While we embrace innovative technologies to enrich the learning experience, we remain steadfast in our commitment to instilling the values of hard work and integrity in our students. Through this balanced approach, we aim to equip our Junior Grades students with the skills and mindset necessary for academic success and lifelong personal growth.

Senior School
Grade 9-12

At OSA Private School, our Senior School program is designed to empower students to think, communicate, and innovate with clarity, criticality, and creativity. Our Senior classrooms are designed to promotea dynamic, collaborative and inclusive learning environment. We offer a rigorous curriculum encouraging students to broaden their perspectives and engage with complex ideas, fostering a commitment to social responsibility and global awareness. Our educational approach extends beyond the classroom, incorporating experiential learning opportunities in athletics, arts, community service, and interaction within our diverse international community.

Students in our Senior School embark on a journey of intellectual discovery, honing their abilities to analyze, articulate, and express themselves effectively. Our students actively participate in sports, arts, and community service initiatives alongside academic pursuits, developing a well-rounded skill set and a deep sense of empathy and compassion.

At OSA, we prepare our graduates for success in higher education and beyond, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, integrity, and empathy cultivated through scholarly inquiry, meaningful mentorship, physical activity, and spiritual reflection. We aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who are academically proficient, socially conscious, and ethically grounded, ready to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world at large.

Pluralism at OSA Private School

Pluralism is central and profoundly influential in the ethos of OSA Private School, where our student body represents a rich tapestry of nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds. Embracing pluralism is not merely a value we uphold; it is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy and a catalyst for fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

First and foremost, pluralism enriches the educational experience by exposing students to diverse perspectives, beliefs, and traditions. Interacting with peers from various cultural backgrounds broadens students’ understanding of the world, encouraging them to appreciate and respect differences while finding common ground. This exposure cultivates empathy, tolerance, and cross-cultural competence—essential qualities for navigating an increasingly interconnected and diverse global society.

Furthermore, pluralism promotes critical thinking and intellectual growth. Engaging with diverse viewpoints challenges students to question assumptions, examine their biases, and approach complex issues from multiple angles. In a pluralistic environment, dialogue and debate are welcomed and encouraged, fostering a culture of open-mindedness and intellectual curiosity.

Moreover, embracing pluralism prepares students for success in an increasingly diverse workforce and globalized world. In today’s interconnected society, the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds is a vital skill. By learning to navigate and appreciate cultural differences within our school’s safe and supportive environment, students develop the intercultural competence necessary for success in their future academic, professional, and personal endeavors.

At OSA Private School, we celebrate pluralism as a source of strength and vitality, enriching the fabric of our community and empowering students to become compassionate, informed, and globally-minded citizens. Through our commitment to pluralism, we strive to cultivate an inclusive and equitable learning environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents to the collective tapestry of our school community.
